10.And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.
11.And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set;

and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows,

and lay down in that place to sleep.
12.And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven:

and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
13.And, behold, the LORD stood above it,

and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac:

the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14.And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west,

and to the east, and to the north, and to the south:

and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15.And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest,

and will bring thee again into this land;

for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
16.And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said,

Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.
17.And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place!

this is none other but the house of God,

and this is the gate of heaven.
18.And Jacob rose up early in the morning,

and took the stone that he had put for his pillows,

and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
19.And he called the name of that place Bethel:

but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.
20.And Jacob vowed a vow, saying,

If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat,

and raiment to put on,
21.So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:
22.And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house:

and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
[KJV]

1.Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,

nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2.But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3.And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;

his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4.The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5.Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,

nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6.For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous:

but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
[KJV]

33.Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34.Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35.Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36.As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37.Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38.For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39.Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,

shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
[KJV]

11.And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee.

Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me,

that they may be one, as we are.
12.While I was with them in the world,

I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept,

and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition;

that the scripture might be fulfilled.
13.And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world,

that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
14.I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them,

because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15.I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world,

but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
16.They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17.Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18.As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19.And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
[KJV]
