1.Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain:

let all the inhabitants of the land tremble:

for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2.A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness,

as the morning spread upon the mountains:

a great people and a strong;

there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
3.A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth:

the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness;

yea, and nothing shall escape them.
4.The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
5.Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap,

like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
6.Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
7.They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war;

and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
8.Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path:

and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
9.They shall run to and fro in the city;

they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses;

they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
10.The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble:

the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
11.And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army:

for his camp is very great:

for he is strong that executeth his word:

for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
[KJV]

1.How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2.How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily?

how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
3.Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
4.Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him;

and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
5.But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
6.I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
[KJV]

1.But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2.For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3.For when they shall say, Peace and safety;

then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child;

and they shall not escape.
4.But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5.Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day:

we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6.Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7.For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8.But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love;

and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9.For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10.Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11.Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
[KJV]

21.And he said unto them,

Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
22.For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested;

neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
23.If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
24.And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear:

with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you:

and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25.For he that hath, to him shall be given:

and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
26.And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
27.And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up,

he knoweth not how.
28.For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself;

first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
29.But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle,

because the harvest is come.
30.And he said,

Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
31.It is like a grain of mustard seed,

which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
32.But when it is sown, it groweth up,

and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches;

so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
33.And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.
34.But without a parable spake he not unto them:

and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
[KJV]
