1.Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month:

and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.
2.And there was no water for the congregation:

and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.
3.And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying,

Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!
4.And why have ye brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness,

that we and our cattle should die there?
5.And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place?

it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.
6.And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.
7.And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
8.Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother,

and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water,

and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock:

so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.
9.And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.
10.And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them,

Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?
11.And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice:

and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.
12.And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron,

Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel,

therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.
[KJV]

1.The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty;

the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself:

the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
2.Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
3.The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice;

the floods lift up their waves.
4.The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters,

yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
5.Thy testimonies are very sure:

holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
[KJV]

1.My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
2.For in many things we offend all.

If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
3.Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4.Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds,

yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
5.Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things.

Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6.And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity:

 so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature;

and it is set on fire of hell.
7.For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed,

and hath been tamed of mankind:
8.But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9.Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men,

which are made after the similitude of God.
10.Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing.

My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11.Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water

 and bitter?
12.Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs?

so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
[KJV]

1.At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying,

Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2.And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3.And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted,

and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4.Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child,

the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5.And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
6.But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me,

it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck,

and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7.Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come;

but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
8.Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee:

it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed,

rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
9.And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee:

it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
[KJV]
