13.Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

Then they brought these men before the king.
14.Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true,

O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods,

nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
15.Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery,

and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made;

well:

but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace;

and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
16.Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king,

O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
17.If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace,

and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18.But if not, be it known unto thee,

O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
19.Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury,

and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego:

therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
20.And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,

and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
21.Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments,

and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
22.Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot,

the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
23.And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,

fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24.Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied,

and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors,

Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?

They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
25.He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt;

and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
26.Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said,

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither.

Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
27.And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors,

being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power,

nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed,

nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
28.Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,

who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him,

and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies,

that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
[KJV]

Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
22.And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee;

and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee;

and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
23.And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee;

and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee:

for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
24.And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
[KJV]

16.Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves:

be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
17.But beware of men:

for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
18.And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake,

for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.
19.But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak:

for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
20.For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
21.And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child:

and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
22.And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake:

but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
23.But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another:

for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
24.The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25.It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord.

If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub,

how much more shall they call them of his household?
26.Fear them not therefore:

for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27.What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light:

and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28.And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:

but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29.Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing?

and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30.But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31.Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
32.Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men,

him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33.But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
[KJV]
