요셉과 형제들

[요셉과 형제들]
1 야곱이 가나안 땅 곧 그 아비의 우거하던 땅에 거하였으니
2 야곱의 약전이 이러하니라

요셉이 십 칠세의 소년으로서 그 형제와 함께 양을 칠 때에

그 아비의 첩 빌하와 실바의 아들들로 더불어 함께 하였더니

그가 그들의 과실을 아비에게 고하더라
3 요셉은 노년에 얻은 아들이므로

이스라엘이 여러 아들보다 그를 깊이 사랑하여 위하여 채색옷을 지었더니
4 그 형들이 아비가 형제들보다 그를 사랑함을 보고

그를 미워하여 그에게 언사가 불평하였더라
[요셉이 애굽으로 팔려 가다]
12 그 형들이 세겜에 가서 아비의 양떼를 칠 때에
13 이스라엘이 요셉에게 이르되

네 형들이 세겜에서 양을 치지 아니하느냐 너를 그들에게로 보내리라

요셉이 아비에게 대답하되 내가 그리하겠나이다
14 이스라엘이 그에게 이르되

가서 네 형들과 양떼가 다 잘 있는 여부를 보고 돌아와 내게 고하라 하고

그를 헤브론 골짜기에서 보내매 이에 세겜으로 가니라
15 어떤 사람이 그를 만난즉 그가 들에서 방황하는지라

그 사람이 그에게 물어 가로되 네가 무엇을 찾느냐
16 그가 가로되 내가 나의 형들을 찾으오니 청컨대 그들의 양치는 곳을 내게 가르치소서
17 그 사람이 가로되 그들이 여기서 떠났느니라

내가 그들의 말을 들으니 도단으로 가자 하더라

요셉이 그 형들의 뒤를 따라 가서 도단에서 그들을 만나니라
18 요셉이 그들에게 가까이 오기 전에 그들이 요셉을 멀리서 보고 죽이기를 꾀하여
19 서로 이르되 꿈 꾸는 자가 오는도다
20 자, 그를 죽여 한 구덩이에 던지고 우리가 말하기를 악한 짐승이 그를 잡아먹었다 하자

그 꿈이 어떻게 되는 것을 우리가 볼 것이니라 하는지라
21 르우벤이 듣고 요셉을 그들의 손에서 구원하려하여 가로되

우리가 그 생명은 상하지 말자
22 르우벤이 또 그들에게 이르되

피를 흘리지 말라 그를 광야 그 구덩이에 던지고 손을 그에게 대지 말라 하니

이는 그가 요셉을 그들의 손에서 구원하여 그 아비에게로 돌리려 함이었더라
23 요셉이 형들에게 이르매 그 형들이 요셉의 옷 곧 그 입은 채색 옷을 벗기고
24 그를 잡아 구덩이에 던지니 그 구덩이는 빈 것이라 그 속에 물이 없었더라
25 그들이 앉아 음식을 먹다가 눈을 들어 본즉

한떼 이스마엘 족속이 길르앗에서 오는데

그 약대들에 향품과 유향과 몰약을 싣고 애굽으로 내려가는지라
26 유다가 자기 형제에게 이르되

우리가 우리 동생을 죽이고 그의 피를 은익한들 무엇이 유익할까
27 자, 그를 이스마엘 사람에게 팔고 우리 손을 그에게 대지 말자

그는 우리의 동생이요 우리의 골육이니라 하매

형제들이 청종하였더라
28 때에 미디안 사람 상고들이 지나는지라

그들이 요셉을 구덩이에서 끌어 올리고 은 이십개에 그를 이스마엘 사람들에게 팔매

그 상고들이 요셉을 데리고 애굽으로 갔더라

1 And Jacob dwelt in the land wherein his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan.
2 These [are] the generations of Jacob.

Joseph, [being] seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren;

and the lad [was] with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his fathers wives:

and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he [was] the son of his old age:

and he made him a coat of [many] colours.
4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren,

they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.
12 And his brethren went to feed their fathers flock in Shechem.
13 And Israel said unto Joseph,

Do not thy brethren feed [the flock] in Shechem?

come, and I will send thee unto them.

And he said to him, Here [am I].
14 And he said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks;

and bring me word again. So he sent him out of the vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.
15 And a certain man found him, and, behold, [he was] wandering in the field:

and the man asked him, saying, What seekest thou?
16 And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me, I pray thee, where they feed [their flocks].
17 And the man said,

They are departed hence; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan.

And Joseph went after his brethren, and found them in Dothan.
18 And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them,

they conspired against him to slay him.
19 And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh.
20 Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say,

Some evil beast hath devoured him:

and we shall see what will become of his dreams.
21 And Reuben heard [it], and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him.
22 And Reuben said unto them,

Shed no blood, [but] cast him into this pit that [is] in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him;

that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again.
23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren,

that they stript Joseph out of his coat, [his] coat of [many] colours that [was] on him;
24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit [was] empty, [there was] no water in it.
25 And they sat down to eat bread:

and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from

Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry [it] down to Egypt.
26 And Judah said unto his brethren,

What profit [is it] if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?
27 Come, and let us sell him to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him;

for he [is] our brother [and] our flesh. And his brethren were content.
28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen;

and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit,

and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty [pieces] of silver:

and they brought Joseph into Egypt.

1 ヤコブは父の寄留の地、すなわちカナンの地に住んだ。
2 ヤコブの子孫は次のとおりである。

ヨセフは十七歳の時、兄弟たちと共に羊の群れを飼っていた。

彼はまだ子供で、父の妻たちビルハとジルパとの子らと共にいたが、

ヨセフは彼らの悪いうわさを父に告げた。
3 ヨセフは年寄り子であったから、

イスラエルは他のどの子よりも彼を愛して、彼のために長そでの着物をつくった。
4 兄弟たちは父がどの兄弟よりも彼を愛するのを見て、

彼を憎み、穏やかに彼に語ることができなかった。
12 さて兄弟たちがシケムに行って、父の羊の群れを飼っていたとき、
13 イスラエルはヨセフに言った、

「あなたの兄弟たちはシケムで羊を飼っているではないか。

さあ、あなたを彼らの所へつかわそう」。

ヨセフは父に言った、「はい、行きます」。
14 父は彼に言った、

「どうか、行って、あなたの兄弟たちは無事であるか、また群れは無事であるか見てきて、

わたしに知らせてください」。父が彼をヘブロンの谷からつかわしたので、彼はシケムに行った。
15 ひとりの人が彼に会い、彼が野をさまよっていたので、その人は彼に尋ねて言った、

「あなたは何を捜しているのですか」。
16 彼は言った、

「兄弟たちを捜しているのです。

彼らが、どこで羊を飼っているのか、どうぞわたしに知らせてください」。
17 その人は言った、

「彼らはここを去りました。彼らが『ドタンへ行こう』と言うのをわたしは聞きました」。

そこでヨセフは兄弟たちのあとを追って行って、ドタンで彼らに会った。
18 ヨセフが彼らに近づかないうちに、彼らははるかにヨセフを見て、これを殺そうと計り、
19 互に言った、「あの夢見る者がやって来る。
20 さあ、彼を殺して穴に投げ入れ、悪い獣が彼を食ったと言おう。

そして彼の夢がどうなるか見よう」。
21 ルベンはこれを聞いて、ヨセフを彼らの手から救い出そうとして言った、

「われわれは彼の命を取ってはならない」。
22 ルベンはまた彼らに言った、

「血を流してはいけない。彼を荒野のこの穴に投げ入れよう。彼に手をくだしてはならない」。

これはヨセフを彼らの手から救いだして父に返すためであった。
23 さて、ヨセフが兄弟たちのもとへ行くと、

彼らはヨセフの着物、彼が着ていた長そでの着物をはぎとり、
24 彼を捕えて穴に投げ入れた。その穴はからで、その中に水はなかった。
25 こうして彼らはすわってパンを食べた。

時に彼らが目をあげて見ると、イシマエルびとの隊商が、らくだに香料と、乳香と、

もつやくとを負わせてエジプトへ下り行こうとギレアデからやってきた。　　
26 そこでユダは兄弟たちに言った、「われわれが弟を殺し、その血を隠して何の益があろう。
27 さあ、われわれは彼をイシマエルびとに売ろう。

彼はわれわれの兄弟、われわれの肉身だから、彼に手を下してはならない」。

兄弟たちはこれを聞き入れた。
28 時にミデアンびとの商人たちが通りかかったので、

彼らはヨセフを穴から引き上げ、銀二十シケルでヨセフをイシマエルびとに売った。

彼らはヨセフをエジプトへ連れて行った。

[호렙산의 엘리야]
9 엘리야가 그곳 굴에 들어가 거기서 유하더니

여호와의 말씀이 저에게 임하여 이르시되

엘리야야 네가 어찌하여 여기 있느냐
10 저가 대답하되

내가 만군의 하나님 여호와를 위하여 열심이 특심하오니

이는 이스라엘 자손이 주의 언약을 버리고

주의 단을 헐며 칼로 주의 선지자들을 죽였음이오며

오직 나만 남았거늘 저희가 내 생명을 찾아 취하려 하나이다
11 여호와께서 가라사대

너는 나가서 여호와의 앞에서 산에 섰으라 하시더니

여호와께서 지나가시는데 여호와의 앞에 크고 강한 바람이 산을 가르고 바위를 부수나

바람 가운데 여호와께서 계시지 아니하며

바람 후에 지진이 있으나 지진 가운데도 여호와께서 계시지 아니하며
12 또 지진 후에 불이 있으나

불 가운데도 여호와께서 계시지 아니 하더니 불 후에 세미한 소리가 있는지라
13 엘리야가 듣고 겉옷으로 얼굴을 가리우고 나가 굴 어귀에 서매

소리가 있어 저에게 임하여 가라사대 엘리야야 네가 어찌하여 여기 있느냐
14 저가 대답하되

내가 만군의 하나님 여호와를 위하여 열심이 특심하오니

이는 이스라엘 자손이 주의 언약을 버리고 주의 단을 헐며

칼로 주의 선지자들을 죽였음이오며

오직 나만 남았거늘 저희가 내 생명을 찾아 취하려 하나이다
15 여호와께서 저에게 이르시되

너는 네 길을 돌이켜 광야로 말미암아 다메섹에 가서 이르거든

하사엘에게 기름을 부어 아람 왕이 되게 하고
16 너는 또 님시의 아들 예후에게 기름을 부어 이스라엘 왕이 되게 하고

또 아벨므흘라 사밧의 아들 엘리사에게 기름을 부어 너를 대신하여 선지자가 되게 하라
17 하사엘의 칼을 피하는 자를 예후가 죽일 것이요

예후의 칼을 피하는 자를 엘리사가 죽이리라
18 그러나 내가 이스라엘 가운데 칠천인을 남기리니

다 무릎을 바알에게 꿇지 아니하고 다 그 입을 바알에게 맞추지 아니한 자니라

9 And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there;

and, behold, the word of the LORD [came] to him, and he said unto him,

What doest thou here, Elijah?
10 And he said,

I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts:

for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant,

thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword;

and I, [even] I only, am left;

and they seek my life, to take it away.
11 And he said,

Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD.

And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains,

and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD;

[but] the LORD [was] not in the wind:

and after the wind an earthquake;

[but] the LORD [was] not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire;

[but] the LORD [was] not in the fire:

and after the fire a still small voice.
13 And it was [so], when Elijah heard [it], that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out,

and stood in the entering in of the cave.

And, behold, [there came] a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?
14 And he said,

I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts:

because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars,

and slain thy prophets with the sword;

and I, [even] I only, am left;

and they seek my life, to take it away.
15 And the LORD said unto him,

Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus:

and when thou comest, anoint Hazael [to be] king over Syria:
16 And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint [to be] king over Israel:

and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint [to be] prophet in thy room.
17 And it shall come to pass, [that] him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay:

and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.
18 Yet I have left [me] seven thousand in Israel,

all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

9 その所で彼はほら穴にはいって、そこに宿ったが、主の言葉が彼に臨んで、彼に言われた、

「エリヤよ、あなたはここで何をしているのか」。
10 彼は言った、

「わたしは万軍の神、主のために非常に熱心でありました。

イスラエルの人々はあなたの契約を捨て、

あなたの祭壇をこわし、刀をもってあなたの預言者たちを殺したのです。

ただわたしだけ残りましたが、彼らはわたしの命を取ろうとしています」。
11 主は言われた、

「出て、山の上で主の前に、立ちなさい」。

その時主は通り過ぎられ、主の前に大きな強い風が吹き、山を裂き、岩を砕いた。

しかし主は風の中におられなかった。風の後に地震があったが、地震の中にも主はおられなかった。
12 地震の後に火があったが、火の中にも主はおられなかった。火の後に静かな細い声が聞えた。
13 エリヤはそれを聞いて顔を外套に包み、出てほら穴の口に立つと、

彼に語る声が聞えた、「エリヤよ、あなたはここで何をしているのか」。
14 彼は言った、

「わたしは万軍の神、主のために非常に熱心でありました。

イスラエルの人々はあなたの契約を捨て、

あなたの祭壇をこわし、刀であなたの預言者たちを殺したからです。

ただわたしだけ残りましたが、彼らはわたしの命を取ろうとしています」。
15 主は彼に言われた、

「あなたの道を帰って行って、ダマスコの荒野におもむき、ダマスコに着いて、

ハザエルに油を注ぎ、スリヤの王としなさい。
16 またニムシの子エヒウに油を注いでイスラエルの王としなさい。

またアベルメホラのシャパテの子エリシャに油を注いで、あなたに代って預言者としなさい。
17 ハザエルのつるぎをのがれる者をエヒウが殺し、

エヒウのつるぎをのがれる者をエリシャが殺すであろう。
18 また、わたしはイスラエルのうちに七千人を残すであろう。

皆バアルにひざをかがめず、それに口づけしない者である」。

1 여호와께 감사하며 그 이름을 불러 아뢰며 그 행사를 만민 중에 알게 할지어다
2 그에게 노래하며 그를 찬양하며 그의 모든 기사를 말할지어다
3 그 성호를 자랑하라 무릇 여호와를 구하는 자는 마음이 즐거울지로다
4 여호와와 그 능력을 구할지어다 그 얼굴을 항상 구할지어다
5 그 종 아브라함의 후손 곧 택하신 야곱의 자손 너희는
6 그의 행하신 기사와 그 이적과 그 입의 판단을 기억할지어다
16 그가 또 기근을 불러 그 땅에 임하게 하여 그 의뢰하는 양식을 다 끊으셨도다
17 한 사람을 앞서 보내셨음이여 요셉이 종으로 팔렸도다
18 그 발이 착고에 상하며 그 몸이 쇠사슬에 매였으니
19 곧 여호와의 말씀이 응할 때까지라 그 말씀이 저를 단련하였도다
20 왕이 사람을 보내어 저를 방석함이여 열방의 통치자가 저로 자유케 하였도다
21 저로 그 집의 주관자를 삼아 그 모든 소유를 관리케 하고
22 임의로 백관을 제어하며 지혜로 장로들을 교훈하게 하였도다

1 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

20 The king sent and loosed him; [even] the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.

1 主に感謝し、そのみ名を呼び、そのみわざをもろもろの民のなかに知らせよ。
2 主にむかって歌え、主をほめうたえ、そのすべてのくすしきみわざを語れ。
3 その聖なるみ名を誇れ。主を尋ね求める者の心を喜ばせよ。
4 主とそのみ力とを求めよ、つねにそのみ顔を尋ねよ。
5 そのしもべアブラハムの子孫よ、その選ばれた者であるヤコブの子らよ、

主のなされたくすしきみわざと、その奇跡と、そのみ口のさばきとを心にとめよ。
16 主はききんを地に招き、人のつえとするパンをことごとく砕かれた。
17 また彼らの前にひとりをつかわされた。すなわち売られて奴隷となったヨセフである。
18 彼の足は足かせをもって痛められ、彼の首は鉄の首輪にはめられ、
19 彼の言葉の成る時まで、主のみ言葉が彼を試みた。
20 王は人をつかわして彼を解き放ち、民のつかさは彼に自由を与えた。
21 王はその家のつかさとして／その所有をことごとくつかさどらせ、
22 その心のままに君たちを教えさせ、長老たちに知恵を授けさせた。

8 내가 하나님 여호와의 하실 말씀을 들으리니

대저 그 백성 그 성도에게 화평을 말씀하실 것이라

저희는 다시 망령된 데로 돌아가지 말지로다
9 진실로 그의 구원이 그를 경외하는 자에게 가까우니 이에 영광이 우리 땅에 거하리이다
10 긍휼과 진리가 같이 만나고 의와 화평이 서로 입맞추었으며
11 진리는 땅에서 솟아나고 의는 하늘에서 하감하였도다
12 여호와께서 좋은 것을 주시리니 우리 땅이 그 산물을 내리로다
13 의가 주의 앞에 앞서 행하며 주의 종적으로 길을 삼으리로다

8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak:

for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
9 Surely his salvation [is] nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed [each other].
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Yea, the LORD shall give [that which is] good; and our land shall yield her increase.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set [us] in the way of his steps.

8 わたしは主なる神の語られることを聞きましょう。

主はその民、その聖徒、ならびにその心を主に向ける者に、平和を語られるからです。
9 まことに、その救は神を恐れる者に近く、その栄光はわれらの国にとどまるでしょう。
10 いつくしみと、まこととは共に会い、義と平和とは互に口づけし、
11 まことは地からはえ、義は天から見おろすでしょう。
12 主が良い物を与えられるので、われらの国はその産物を出し、
13 義は主のみ前に行き、その足跡を道とするでしょう。

[주의 이름을 부르는 자는 구원을 얻으리라]
5 모세가 기록하되

율법으로 말미암는 의를 행하는 사람은 그 의로 살리라 하였거니와
6 믿음으로 말미암는 의는 이같이 말하되

네 마음에 누가 하늘에 올라가겠느냐 하지 말라 하니

올라가겠느냐 함은 그리스도를 모셔 내리려는 것이요
7 혹 누가 음부에 내려가겠느냐 하지 말라 하니

내려가겠느냐 함은 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 모셔 올리려는 것이라
8 그러면 무엇을 말하느뇨

말씀이 네게 가까와 네 입에 있으며 네 마음에 있다 하였으니

곧 우리가 전파하는 믿음의 말씀이라
9 네가 만일 네 입으로 예수를 주로 시인하며

또 하나님께서 그를 죽은자 가운데서 살리신 것을 네 마음에 믿으면 구원을 얻으리니
10 사람이 마음으로 믿어 의에 이르고 입으로 시인하여 구원에 이르느니라
11 성경에 이르되 누구든지 저를 믿는 자는 부끄러움을 당하지 아니하리라 하니
12 유대인이나 헬라인이나 차별이 없음이라 한

주께서 모든 사람의 주가 되사

저를 부르는 모든 사람에게 부요하시도다
13 누구든지 주의 이름을 부르는 자는 구원을 얻으리라
14 그런즉 저희가 믿지 아니하는 이를 어찌 부르리요

듣지도 못한 이를 어찌 믿으리요

전파하는 자가 없이 어찌 들으리요
15 보내심을 받지 아니하였으면 어찌 전파하리요

기록된바 아름답도다 좋은 소식을 전하는 자들의 발이여 함과 같으니라

5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law,

That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise,

Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? is, to bring Christ down [from above]:
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart:

that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,

and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;

and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek:

for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?

and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?

and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent?

as it is written,

How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace,

and bring glad tidings of good things!

5 モーセは、律法による義を行う人は、その義によって生きる、と書いている。
6 しかし、信仰による義は、こう言っている、

「あなたは心のうちで、だれが天に上るであろうかと言うな」。

それは、キリストを引き降ろすことである。
7 また、「だれが底知れぬ所に下るであろうかと言うな」。

それは、キリストを死人の中から引き上げることである。
8 では、なんと言っているか。

「言葉はあなたの近くにある。あなたの口にあり、心にある」。

この言葉とは、わたしたちが宣べ伝えている信仰の言葉である。
9 すなわち、

自分の口で、イエスは主であると告白し、

自分の心で、神が死人の中からイエスをよみがえらせたと信じるなら、

あなたは救われる。
10 なぜなら、人は心に信じて義とされ、口で告白して救われるからである。
11 聖書は、「すべて彼を信じる者は、失望に終ることがない」と言っている。
12 ユダヤ人とギリシヤ人との差別はない。

同一の主が万民の主であって、彼を呼び求めるすべての人を豊かに恵んで下さるからである。
13 なぜなら、「主の御名を呼び求める者は、すべて救われる」とあるからである。
14 しかし、信じたことのない者を、どうして呼び求めることがあろうか。

聞いたことのない者を、どうして信じることがあろうか。

宣べ伝える者がいなくては、どうして聞くことがあろうか。
15 つかわされなくては、どうして宣べ伝えることがあろうか。

「ああ、麗しいかな、良きおとずれを告げる者の足は」と書いてあるとおりである。

22 예수께서 즉시 제자들을 재촉하사

자기가 무리를 보내는 동안에 배를 타고 앞서 건너편으로 가게 하시고
23 무리를 보내신 후에 기도하러 따로 산에 올라가시다 저물매 거기 혼자 계시더니
24 배가 이미 육지에서 수리나 떠나서 바람이 거슬리므로 물결을 인하여 고난을 당하더라
25 밤 사경에 예수께서 바다 위로 걸어서 제자들에게 오시니
26 제자들이 그 바다 위로 걸어 오심을 보고 놀라 유령이라 하며 무서워하여 소리지르거늘
27 예수께서 즉시 일러 가라사대 안심하라 내니 두려워 말라
28 베드로가 대답하여 가로되

주여 만일 주시어든 나를 명하사 물 위로 오라 하소서 한대
29 오라 하시니 베드로가 배에서 내려 물 위로 걸어서 예수께로 가되
30 바람을 보고 무서워 빠져 가는지라

소리질러 가로되 주여 나를 구원하소서 하니

22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship,

and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray:

and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves:

for the wind was contrary.
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea,

they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying,

Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28 And Peter answered him and said,

Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29 And he said,

Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid;

and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth [his] hand, and caught him, and said unto him,

O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him,

saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

22 それからすぐ、イエスは群衆を解散させておられる間に、

しいて弟子たちを舟に乗り込ませ、向こう岸へ先におやりになった。
23 そして群衆を解散させてから、祈るためひそかに山へ登られた。

夕方になっても、ただひとりそこにおられた。
24 ところが舟は、もうすでに陸から数丁も離れており、

逆風が吹いていたために、波に悩まされていた。
25 イエスは夜明けの四時ごろ、海の上を歩いて彼らの方へ行かれた。
26 弟子たちは、イエスが海の上を歩いておられるのを見て、

幽霊だと言っておじ惑い、恐怖のあまり叫び声をあげた。
27 しかし、イエスはすぐに彼らに声をかけて、

「しっかりするのだ、わたしである。恐れることはない」と言われた。
28 するとペテロが答えて言った、

「主よ、あなたでしたか。

では、わたしに命じて、水の上を渡ってみもとに行かせてください」。
29 イエスは、「おいでなさい」と言われたので、

ペテロは舟からおり、水の上を歩いてイエスのところへ行った。
30 しかし、風を見て恐ろしくなり、そしておぼれかけたので、

彼は叫んで、「主よ、お助けください」と言った。
31 イエスはすぐに手を伸ばし、彼をつかまえて言われた、

「信仰の薄い者よ、なぜ疑ったのか」。
32 ふたりが舟に乗り込むと、風はやんでしまった。
33 舟の中にいた者たちはイエスを拝して、

「ほんとうに、あなたは神の子です」と言った。
