헛되고 헛되며 헛되고 헛되니 모든 것이 헛되도다

[내가 저희로 각 집에 머물게 하리라]

1.이스라엘의 어렸을 때에 내가 사랑하여 내 아들을 애굽에서 불러 내었거늘
2.선지자들이 저희를 부를수록 저희가 점점 멀리하고 바알들에게 제사하며 아로새긴 우상 앞에서 분향하였느니라
3.그러나 내가 에브라임에게 걸음을 가르치고 내 팔로 안을찌라도 내가 저희를 고치는 줄을 저희가 알지 못하였도다
4.내가 사람의 줄 곧 사랑의 줄로 저희를 이끌었고

저희에게 대하여 그 목에서 멍에를 벗기는 자 같이 되었으며

저희 앞에 먹을 것을 두었었노라
5.저희가 애굽 땅으로 다시 가지 못하겠거늘 내게 돌아 오기를 싫어하니 앗수르 사람이 그 임금이 될 것이라
6.칼이 저희의 성읍들을 치며 빗장을 깨뜨려 없이 하리니 이는 저희의 계책을 인함이니라
7.내 백성이 결심하고 내게서 물러가나니

비록 저희를 불러 위에 계신 자에게로 돌아오라 할찌라도 일어나는 자가 하나도 없도다
8.에브라임이여 내가 어찌 너를 놓겠느냐 이스라엘이여 내가 어찌 너를 버리겠느냐

내가 어찌 너를 아드마 같이 놓겠느냐 어찌 너를 스보임 같이 두겠느냐

내 마음이 내 속에서 돌아서 나의 긍휼이 온전히 불붙듯 하도다
9.내가 나의 맹렬한 진노를 발하지 아니하며 내가 다시는 에브라임을 멸하지 아니하리니

이는 내가 사람이 아니요 하나님임이라 나는 네 가운데 거하는 거룩한 자니 진노함으로 네게 임하지 아니하리라
10.저희가 사자처럼 소리를 발하시는 여호와를 좇을 것이라

여호와께서 소리를 발하시면 자손들이 서편에서부터 떨며 오되
11.저희가 애굽에서부터 새 같이, 앗수르에서부터 비둘기 같이 떨며 오리니

내가 저희로 각 집에 머물게 하리라 나 여호와의 말이니라

1.When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
2.As they called them, so they went from them:

they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
3.I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.
4.I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love:

and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.
5.He shall not return into the land of Egypt, and the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.
6.And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them,

because of their own counsels.
7.And my people are bent to backsliding from me:

though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
8.How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah?

how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
9.I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim:

for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
10.They shall walk after the LORD:

he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
11.They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria:

and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.

1 イスラエルが幼いころ、わたしは彼を愛し、わたしの子をエジプトから呼び出した。
2 それなのに、彼らを呼べば呼ぶほど、彼らはいよいよ遠ざかり、

バアルたちにいけにえをささげ、刻んだ像に香をたいた。
3 それでも、わたしはエフライム歩くことを教え、彼らを腕に抱いた。

しかし、彼らはわたしがいやしたのを知らなかった。

アッシリヤが彼の王となる。彼らがわたしに立ち返ることを拒んだからだ。
6 剣は、その町々で荒れ狂い、そのかんぬきを絶ち滅ぼし、彼らのはかりごとを食い尽くす。
7 わたしの民はわたしに対する背信からどうしても離れない。

人々が上にいます方に彼を招いても、彼は、共にあがめようとはしない。
8 エフライムよ。わたしはどうしてあなたを引き渡すことができようか。

イスラエルよ。どうしてあなたを見捨てることができようか。

どうしてわたしはあなたをアデマのように引き渡すことができようか。

どうしてあなたをツェボイムのようにするこができようか。

わたしの心はわたしのうちで沸き返り、わたしはあわれみで胸が熱くなっている。
9 わたしは燃える怒りで罰しない。わたしは再びエフライムを滅ぼさない。

わたしは神であって、人ではなく、あなたがたのうちにいる聖なる者であるからだ。

わたしは怒りをもっては来ない。
10 彼らは主のあとについて来る。

主は獅子のようにほえる。まことに、主がほえると、子らは西から震えながらやって来る。
11 彼らは鳥のようにエジプトから、鳩のようにアッシリヤの地から、震えながらやって来る。

わたしは、彼らを自分たちの家に住ませよう。—主の御告げ—

2.전도자가 가로되 헛되고 헛되며 헛되고 헛되니 모든 것이 헛되도다
12.나 전도자는 예루살렘에서 이스라엘 왕이 되어
13.마음을 다하며 지혜를 써서 하늘 아래서 행하는 모든 일을 궁구하며 살핀즉

이는 괴로운 것이니 하나님이 인생들에게 주사 수고하게 하신 것이라
14.내가 해 아래서 행하는 모든 일을 본즉 다 헛되어 바람을 잡으려는 것이로다
18.내가 해 아래서 나의 수고한 모든 수고를 한하였노니 이는 내 뒤를 이을 자에게 끼치게 됨이라
19.그 사람이 지혜자일찌 우매자일찌야 누가 알랴마는

내가 해 아래서 내 지혜를 나타내어 수고한 모든 결과를 저가 다 관리하리니 이것도 헛되도다
20.이러므로 내가 해 아래서 수고한 모든 수고에 대하여 도리어 마음으로 실망케 하였도다
21.어떤 사람은 그 지혜와 지식과 재주를 써서 수고하였어도

그 얻은 것을 수고하지 아니한 자에게 업으로 끼치리니

이것도 헛된 것이라 큰 해로다
22.사람이 해 아래서 수고하는 모든 수고와 마음에 애쓰는 것으로 소득이 무엇이랴
23.일평생에 근심하며 수고하는 것이 슬픔 뿐이라 그 마음이 밤에도 쉬지 못하나니 이것도 헛되도다

2.Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
12.I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.
13.And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven:

this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.
14.I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
18.Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun:

because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me.
19.And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise man or a fool?

yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured,

and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This is also vanity.
20.Therefore I went about to cause my heart to despair of all the labour which I took under the sun.
21.For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in equity;

yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion.

This also is vanity and a great evil.
22.For what hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart,

wherein he hath laboured under the sun? 
23.For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief;

yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity.

2 空の空。伝道者は言う。空の空。すべては空。
12 伝道者である私は、エルサレムでイスラエルの王であった。
13 私は、天の下で行われるいっさいの事について、知恵を用いて、一心に尋ね、探り出そうとした。

これは、人の子らが労苦するようにと神が与えたつらい仕事だ。
14 私は、日の下で行われたすべてのわざを見たが、なんと、すべてがむなしいことよ。風を追うようなものだ。
18 私は、日の下で骨折ったいっさいの労苦を憎んだ。後継者のために残さなければならないからである。
19 後継者が知恵ある者か愚か者か、だれにわかろう。

しかも、私が日の下で骨折り、知恵を使ってしたすべての労苦を、その者が支配するようになるのだ。

これもまた、むなしい。
20 私は日の下で骨折ったいっさいの労苦を思い返して絶望した。
21 どんなに人が知恵と知識と才能をもって労苦しても、

何の労苦もしなかった者に、自分の分け前を譲らなければならない。

これもまた、むなしく、非常に悪いことだ。
22 実に、日の下で骨折ったいっさいの労苦と思い煩いは、人に何になろう。
23 その一生は悲しみであり、その仕事には悩みがあり、その心は夜も休まらない。これもまた、むなしい。

1.여호와께 감사하라 그는 선하시며 그 인자하심이 영원함이로다
2.여호와께 구속함을 받은 자는 이 같이 말할찌어다 여호와께서 대적의 손에서 저희를 구속하사
3.동서 남북 각 지방에서부터 모으셨도다
4.저희가 광야 사막 길에서 방황하며 거할 성을 찾지 못하고
5.주리고 목마름으로 그 영혼이 속에서 피곤하였도다
6.이에 저희가 그 근심 중에 여호와께 부르짖으매 그 고통에서 건지시고
7.또 바른 길로 인도하사 거할 성에 이르게 하셨도다
8.여호와의 인자하심과 인생에게 행하신 기이한 일을 인하여 그를 찬송할찌로다
9.저가 사모하는 영혼을 만족케 하시며 주린 영혼에게 좋은 것으로 채워주심이로다
43.지혜 있는 자들은 이 일에 주의하고 여호와의 인자하심을 깨달으리로다

2.Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

6.Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

9.For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
43.Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.

2 主に贖われた者はこのように言え。主は彼らを敵の手から贖い、

12.사람은 존귀하나 장구치 못함이여 멸망하는 짐승 같도다

2 低い者も、尊い者も、富む者も、貧しい者も、ともどもに。
3 私の口は知恵を語り、私の心は英知を告げる。
4 私はたとえに耳を傾け、立琴に合わせて私のなぞを解き明かそう。
5 どうして私は、わざわいの日に、恐れなければならないのか。私を取り囲んで中傷する者の悪意を。

where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2.Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3.For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4.When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5.Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth;
fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness,
which is idolatry:
6.For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

11.Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free:
but Christ is all, and in all.

1 こういうわけで、もしあなたがたが、キリストとともによみがえらされたのなら、上にあるものを求めなさい。

そこにはキリストが、神の右の座を占めておられます。
2 あなたがたは、地上のものを思わず、天にあるものを思いなさい。
3 あなたがたはすでに死んでおり、

あなたがたのいのちは、キリストとともに、神のうちに隠されてあるからです。
4 私たちのいのちであるキリストが現れると、

そのときあなたがたも、キリストとともに、栄光のうちに現れます。
5 ですから、地上のからだの諸部分、

すなわち、不品行、汚れ、情欲、悪い欲、そしてむさぼりを殺してしまいなさい。

このむさぼりが、そのまま偶像礼拝なのです。
6 このようなことのために、神の怒りが下るのです。
7 あなたがたも、以前、そのようなものの中に生きていたときは、そのような歩み方をしていました。
8 しかし今は、

あなたがたも、すべてこれらのこと、すなわち、怒り、憤り、悪意、

そしり、あなたがたの口から出る恥ずべきことばを、捨ててしまいなさい。
9 互いに偽りを言ってはいけません。あなたがたは、古い人をその行いといっしょに脱ぎ捨てて、
10 新しい人を着たのです。

新しい人は、造り主のかたちに似せられてますます新しくされ、真の知識に至るのです。
11 そこには、

ギリシヤ人とユダヤ人、割礼の有無、未開人、スクテヤ人、奴隷と自由人というような区別はありません。

キリストがすべてであり、すべてのうちにおられるのです。

[자기를 위하여 재물을 쌓아 두고 하나님께 대하여 부요치 못한 자가 이와 같으니라]
13.무리 중에 한 사람이 이르되 선생님 내 형을 명하여 유업을 나와 나누게 하소서 하니
14.이르시되 이 사람아 누가 나를 너희의 재판장이나 물건 나누는 자로 세웠느냐 하시고
15.저희에게 이르시되

삼가 모든 탐심을 물리치라 사람의 생명이 그 소유의 넉넉한데 있지 아니하니라 하시고
16.또 비유로 저희에게 일러 가라사대 한 부자가 그 밭에 소출이 풍성하매
17.심중에 생각하여 가로되 내가 곡식 쌓아 둘 곳이 없으니 어찌할꼬 하고
18.또 가로되 내가 이렇게 하리라 내 곡간을 헐고 더 크게 짓고 내 모든 곡식과 물건을 거기 쌓아 두리라
19.또 내가 내 영혼에게 이르되

영혼아 여러 해 쓸 물건을 많이 쌓아 두었으니 평안히 쉬고 먹고 마시고 즐거워하자 하리라 하되
20.하나님은 이르시되

어리석은 자여 오늘 밤에 네 영혼을 도로 찾으리니 그러면 네 예비한 것이 뉘 것이 되겠느냐 하셨으니
21.자기를 위하여 재물을 쌓아 두고 하나님께 대하여 부요치 못한 자가 이와 같으니라

13.And one of the company said unto him,

Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
14.And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
15.And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness:
for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16.And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17.And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18.And he said, This will I do:

I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19.And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years;

take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20.But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee:

then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21.So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

13 群集の中のひとりが、「先生。私と遺産を分けるように私の兄弟に話してください。」と言った。
14 すると彼に言われた。「いったいだれが、わたしをあなたがたの裁判官や調停者に任命したのですか。」
15 そして人々に言われた。

「どんな貪欲にも注意して、よく警戒しなさい。

なぜなら、いくら豊かな人でも、その人のいのちは財産にあるのではないからです。
16 それから人々にたとえを話された。「ある金持ちの畑が豊作であった。
17 そこで彼は、心の中でこう言いながら考えた。『どうしよう。作物をたくわえておく場所がない。』
18 そして言った。

『こうしよう。あの倉を取りこわして、もっと大きいのを建て、穀物や財産はみなそこにしまっておこう。
19 そして、自分のたましいにこう言おう。

「たましいよ。これから先何年分もいっぱい物がためられた。さあ、安心して、食べて、飲んで、楽しめ。」』
20 しかし神は彼に言われた。

『愚か者。おまえのたましいは、今夜おまえから取り去られる。

そうしたら、おまえが用意した物は、いったいだれのものになるのか。』
21 自分のためにたくわえても、神の前に富まない者はこのとおりです。」
